The maximum is acheived between 1600 and 4000rpm then is starts to drop rapidly.
Perhaps Honest John could get an update from VW. Like all EA211 units, this engine with displacement of 1,498 cm has a compression ratio of 10.5:1. Many many people have done exactly that.. VW saying there not aware of any problems with the 1.5 Auto ummm I was thinking of getting one not so sure now ? I'll be keeping a close eye on my reject going onto the forecourt.

I haven't had an update yet on my May 19 registered Karoq SEL 1.5tsi. With a starting price of just 31,000 and an impressive efficiency rating, the Kona proves that you can easily balance affordability and efficiency. 30 days to 6 months also quite forward if you are impacted - one email can enact the rejection and you can get your money back.
The cutting out was not possible to demonstrate on demand but by then it had happened twice to me as well.

I'm wondering whether my 1.5 SE-L Octavia was built before they put the Kangaroo chip in the engine mgmt system. And other German manufacturers haven't exactly enhanced their quality.
They've told me there is no solution yet people have said they've heard April - September timeline.. New software up date planned this will be the third no date, it seems clutching at straws really sad as car looks good.
Since it is evident that this problem has been around some time and the "imminent" VAG software update (affecting VW, Skoda, Seat and Audi) has not yet materialised might I suggest that all affected owners add their voice to the many VAG forums (of which there are many) that cover their vehicle.

This Octavia absolutely rocks and IMHO is better than Golf, Passat, Leon, A4 etc. I'm pretty sure from my experience that VW or it's guises won't give you the same chance that you are giving them.
I therefore hypothesise that when you are trying to pull away, if the car thinks there is a danger of stalling, it will increase the revs itself (separate to your inputs to the accelerator) which is then resulting in jerkiness/kangarooing?
I have reported it to our dealer and they confirmed it is a known issue with a software fix due in Q2 of this year. I have owned several Skoda Octavias and Yeti models and kept going back to Skoda to replace models.

SKODA AUDI SEAT VW ouch ! The problem for VAG is that not everyone has had a problem with the 1.5TSI manual so the ECU and the software applied to it at that time worked OK. Had my May '19 reg Karoq SEL 1.5tsi done 1.10.19. However, there are posts where Vw UK, or Skoda UK recognized the fault and even gave some full refunds. on 11 April 2019.
The main thing we miss about the Q2 is the virtual cockpit/built in Google Maps, but the thing we don't miss is the kangarooing (at all temperatures, almost every time when pulling away in 1st gear) and the cutting out at junctions, which made my wife too frightened to drive it during the few weeks that we had it. on 6 February 2019, Judesman

I have a Golf GT 1.5TSI Evo 150 with the DSG gearbox, and in extremely cold weather of below 2 Degrees Celsius, the car at low speeds starts jerking at around 1500rpm. I have a T roc with 1.5 tsi engine and have same problem as other owners.

Pulling out of a multi storey in Birmingham last week was diabolical!
This is achieved by early closing of the inlet valves, thus reducing throttling losses and enabling a high compression ratio 12.5:1 in the four-cylinder and 11.5:1 in the three-cylinder engine. Owners who have reported the 'kangaroo' problem to their dealer will also be asked to complete some additional questions about the dealer's response, and the response they have received from Volkswagen if the vehicle has been rejected.
VW uk are trying but nothing coming out of VW Germany on end date fix there lies the problem but to carry on churning the engine out without clear clarification is bad. If you fancy a bit more vim and vigour - or maybe you carry lots of passengers and luggage - it's well worth looking at the 148bhp 1.5 TSI 150.
Picked mine up new 2 weeks ago and I have the same issue. The colors seem almost futuristic and is certainly distinguishable.

Several people have done it - see my earlier post if you need more info. With the launch of the 1.5-litre engine, Volkswagen bucked the downsizing trend by replacing a 125PS 1.4 four-cylinder unit with a 1.5 four-cylinder producing 150PS. This has been going on for over a year. The car, if its like my T-Roc has a clear fault and under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 you are entitled to return it, for a full refund if done within a reasonable period.

Good luck fighting them - assume you have contacted the VW Exec Office - who are fully aware of the issue and accepting various Rejections every week - including mine! Look new Bentely gen 2 for example it is easily one of the faster car compared to old cars. The Skoda Service Centre did get the update from Skoda UK via email and it was applied, the corporate speak from SUK is that it would require the Karoq to be driven for some 600 miles to allow the ECU to learn and adapt to my type of driving / vehicle usage. Opportunities to pass slower traffic require careful planning in terms of gear selection and engine speed. Some people are fine waiting, or adjusting how they drive - personally I think damage was being caused to my clutch/car which would have been very hard to prove in the longer term. It is suitable for a daily use car.It can be used in isolation with standard components. The four-cylinder with 96 kW (130 PS) and the three-cylinder variant use a combustion process based on the so-called Miller cycle.

(It was on a PCP). Worked for me and was advised by a helpful chap on the T-ROC forum where there is a lot of discussion and examples of the problem/varying VW treatment.
I have started the rejection of the vehicle but i waiting for them to investigate (they have up to 8 weeks as i rejected after the initial 30 days).
